8 Reasons Why You Should Start Blogging
Credit Crunch, What Now?
Hello Everyone,
Every day we are told of layoffs and more and more people joining the dole line. So what should you do now? Most regular readers will know that the easiest way to start making money online is to start blogging! Today I have come up with a list of reasons why blogging is so great and why you should be doing it!
– Less than $100 investment! Most people setting up a business have to invest thousands of dollars and have to wait a long time for any return. Some of our interviewees have shown that in less than 6 months you could be earning more a month then you would be doing the 9 – 5.
– No previous knowledge, a huge reason for blogging to be so successful is its so easy! Anyone can do it, follow a FREE Guide and see yourself online in less than 30 minutes.
– You can blog about anything! All you need is a hobby or something of interest and start talking about it on your blog, content is so easy to create. Today I have helped a friend get online with his very first blog, he has a interest in fast cars and modifying cars, his first post is called “Top 10 Cars Boy Racers Should Be Driving”.
– It only takes 1 hour a day! Most people spend 9 hours a day at work but blogging doesn’t have to take very long at all. Some successful bloggers only spend a hour a day adding a new blog post. This means you don’t have to quit your day job just yet and so their isn’t any risk!
– Building an Asset! What I love most about the internet is that every time I build a website it’s an Asset, it’s worth money! Blogs are the easiest type of website to sell and usually sell for 12 months revenue.
– Driving Traffic Can Be Childs Play. They still go to school but yet some of them still make more money every day then their parents.
– Internet Lifestyle, some bloggers get to spend everyday doing what they love most and get paid a lot of money to do it! Alborz Fallah runs a successful car blog, he gets to travel all over the world to test drive some of the coolest cars in the world and then he blogs about it which earns him over a $1000 everyday! Pretty cool huh?
– Fake it till your make it! No one sees you working, you can pretend to be anyone you like! So many bloggers pretend they earn $100,000’s a year online and then blog about it and then 1000’s of people flock to their websites to read about it which in the end results in them earn a lot of money!
To our success in 2009,
Michael Dunlop

this is one of the funniest 8 reason that I have ever seen especially the fake it part.
Very nice article Michael.
I started blogging because I love to write. I can write about anything…and it is so easy to set up a blog on any topic!
For me, one of the best things about blogging is that I can do anything I like.
Forgot to add:
I can do anything I like, I don’t have any one telling me when to write this, or when to say that.
I had a personal blog just for the fun of it. One day, a guy commented on one of my posts. I looked at his site and it was talking about he makes money online. I was blown away, I had No idea there was more to blogging then just posts and comments. A month or two later I started mastersofseo, I’m still learning about how to make money. But I’ve learned a ton about how to blog, and how to get traffic… I love it because it’s a lot of fun, and if I make any money at all I’m so excited. I guess being a newbie, you still have the excitement. I haven’t made tons of money, but enough to get some treats.
Hi Michael
Hope you are well. I see your site is developing really well. Very impressed!
Just wanted to share my experience of blogging. I run an £8m per year business already and have over 100 staff, so not the normal situation to start blogging.
But I set up my Renegade Conservatory Guy site about 18 months ago and now have over 200 subscibers. It’s not massive, but considering all I talk about is things related to double glazing and conservatories – I’m quite happy. I have no advertising at all, but the site has generated new customers.
But more important than that is I’m making contacts – and lots of them! I’m making friends with all sorts of people I wouldn’t normally have got to know. All I do is write about stuff that interests me when I’ve got a spare minute.

Awesome post.
Blogging is the wave of the future, in my opinion.
I mean whenever I see someone post a comment and I like it, I always look for their website.
I think websites or blogs in this case, are a must for everyone.
I see the world in the next 10 years full of solo entrepreneurs/bloggers.
Thanks for the really informative post.
Now day making money online is the easiest way to earn. Blogs are famous for all the user who are making money online around the world. There are various method such as
1. Blogging
2. Social marketing
3. Social networking
I agree! While it’s no reason to stop looking for a job, a blog can be a great way to establish a secondary money supply that can at least help set you up for the future and get a little bit of a nest.
And what the heck, it teaches you something new!
Matthew – Great point, because of blogging I found lots of new interviewees and people to network with. Coming to UG5?
Xscape – Exactly! A secondary income stream can’t be a bad thing!
Great points everyone, I am glad you enjoyed the post.
It’s easy to start a blog, but many newcomers will find it extremely difficult to figure out how to monetize it properly and make a decent income from it. Blogging is definitely a good hobby, but not something most people should make their day job.
“It only takes 1 hour a day!” I like that part. I was under the impression that I have to spend half the night blogging, but I can get a lot done if I dedicate an hour a day with no distractions.
Yea, I agree Funny. It’s clearly easy to start blogging, as you can tell by the millions that do it. However, to attract visitors to your blog and what’s more, to make money on it, is another story.
Still, it’s a valuable thing to learn and a good thing to add to your resume to help market yourself :).
Blogs are an asset. They are also great for resumes if you want to continue working in offline industries. Most are impressive, depending on the content of the blog, that a prospective employee is tech oriented and runs a small business.
Here’s another reason to start blogging: Because your customers are increasingly turning to blogs to get their information. It’s simple, in business you must go where your customers are. You wouldn’t sell steak at a vegetarian conference. So go where you customers are going.
Xscape – Idea for next post 😉
Gennaro – Very good point, if I was going to go for a really good job I would definitly mention my website but right now am happy working from home.
John – Haha great point also! I have found myself on some major sites blogs a few times.
It’s the new marketing medium. A blog is expected.
Ha, I got into blogging for the simple reason of getting money. But when you lay it out like that, it makes me feel so much more productive 😛
lol. i like the faking it part. let people think you know what you’re doing until you do. ^_^
I’m just starting out too so this is helpful.
