I don’t regret not going.
As for the email you shared from the person whose son was called slow and retarded by his teacher, it reminded me of Les Brown who was also deemed retarded. It makes me sad to know some teachers tear their students down when they’re supposed to encourage them to make the most out of their lives. I was fortunate enough to have mostly good teachers.

I’m a long ways from being a billionaire, but I do OK. I too ‘left’ college in the middle of my junior year to pursue my first tech job as a computer operator. I discovered that I enjoyed working – even 20 hour days – FAR more than being bored in a classroom or lecture hall.

I think some people like to learn, and others like to be taught. I fall into the first category.
